One of my old SL avs. ~shiny~ And another by the same designer, which of *course* I had to buy as well.

A robot girl, looking off into the distance. Her blue eyes glow white in the center. Her body's quite classically crafted as if in homage to 20th century acolytes of Bézier.

Av design by Winter Ventura, of Eclectic Randomness.

Another 'bot by the same designer, looking ever so slightly like V.I.N.CENT from The Black Hole.

@porsupah [https://lgbt.io/@porsupah] “celebrates the Deaf and hard of hearing communities” is an interesting position for this headline to takeis it not still the consensus in the Deaf community that hearing implants are A Bad Idea because they represent hearing people forcing them to conform? Or is that an older-generation idea that I picked up in college?

Two figures, made only of paper wrapped loosely around only nothing, in classical ballet poses, heart shapes arcing between them, centered in arcs, with a trail of fabric swirls leading away from an inner glow, as if smoke.

A "Latex Skunk Trap", which apparently, if triggered, causes them to emit a squirt of latex, turning you into a latex drone. [SENSITIVE]

"Sasaki attributes the basic invention to break the calculator chipset into four parts with ROM (4001), RAM (4002), shift registers (4003) and CPU (4004) to an unnamed woman, a software engineering researcher from Nara Women's College, who was present at the meeting. Sasaki then had his first meeting with Robert Noyce from Intel in 1968, and presented the woman's four-division chipset concept to Intel and Busicom."Not even sidelined, just "unnamed".https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_general-purpose_CPUs#Late_1960s–early_1970s:_LSI_and_microprocessors [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histo...te_1960s–early_1970s:_LSI_and_microprocessors]

"Why can't Britain handle the truth about Winston Churchill?"The writer of the piece is a teaching fellow at Churchill College, Cambridge, and recently hosted a panel discussion, “The Racial Consequences of Mr Churchill”."Even before it took place, the discussion was repeatedly denounced in the tabloids and on social media as “idiotic”, a “character assassination” aimed at “trashing” the great man. Outraged letters to the college said this was academic freedom gone too far, and that the event should be cancelled. The speakers and I, all scholars and people of colour, were subjected to vicious hate mail, racist slurs and threats. We were accused of treason and slander. One correspondent warned that my name was being forwarded to the commanding officer of an RAF base near my home."And why?"Churchill is on record as praising 'Aryan stock' and insisting it was right for 'a stronger race, a higher-grade race' to take the place of indigenous peoples. He reportedly did not think 'black people were as capable or as efficient as white people'. In 1911, Churchill banned interracial boxing matches so white fighters would not be seen losing to black ones. He insisted that Britain and the US shared 'Anglo-Saxon superiority'. He described anticolonial campaigners as 'savages armed with ideas'."https://www.theguardian.com/comment...tain-handle-the-truth-about-winston-churchill [https://www.theguardian.com/comment...tain-handle-the-truth-about-winston-churchill]

@porsupah [https://lgbt.io/@porsupah] And let's not forget this pull quote either: "Unions welcomed the news. Kevin Lindsay, Aslef’s organiser in Scotland, said: ‘We welcome the beginning of the end of the failed franchise system here in Scotland. Never again should people’s railway ever be in the hands of the privateers.”"

It's probably just me, but this clip from 2018 of the ambient sound in my then local bar on a busy night is curiously comforting. ^_^ (The sound is somewhat hard, as the place was all hard surfaces, bit of an industrial vibe)

Re WEP ep.10: not that it makes much difference, but Hyphen's first line to Momoe (at 19m36s) was translated as "That's not good. Go see a doctor.", when it's apparently from a children's song, and should be more along the lines of "You've been bad; I'll tell teacher".
